Vancouver, Canada, July 13, 2026<\/strong>\u00a0| SAAM Towage has obtained the international Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) certification for its electric tugboat\u00a0CDG, which operates in Canada.<\/p>\n

The certification, granted by Lloyd\u2019s Register, confirms compliance with stringent standards to reduce underwater radiated noise, validating the vessel\u2019s lower acoustic impact and its contribution to protecting the marine ecosystem, particularly marine mammals inhabiting coastal waters.<\/p>\n

SAAM Towage Canada Country Manager, Sander Bikkers, said: \u201cWe are committed to operating in an increasingly sustainable and innovative way, aligned with the challenges of the communities where we operate. Reducing the acoustic impact of our operations is a tangible contribution to protecting the underwater ecosystem and reinforces our vision of responsible growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The CDF was built by Sanmar Shipyards and designed by the Canadian firm Robert Allan Ltd.
