Adding operations here enables SAAM\u00a0Towage to provide the best coverage for our customers in the South Pacific and also to take maximum advantage of its extensive network in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Country Manager for SAAM Towage Chile &amp; Peru, Cristi\u00e1n Cifuentes, spoke about the division&#8217;s progress. \u201cWe have managed to make important strides thanks to the trust placed in us by our customers. We opened our offices in Callao and, in addition to providing services at Peru\u2019s leading port, we operate at the Port of Matarani and support Miski Mayo\u2019s mining operations at the Port of Bay\u00f3var\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago, G\u00f3mez and Cifuentes hosted an event with authorities and customers at the San Pedro de Osma Museum as a way of thanking them for this good start in Peru.<\/p>\n<p>At the celebration, the tug Albatros was symbolically christened. The vessel&#8217;s godmother is Flor Roncal, Technical Purchasing and Warehouse Supervisor at SAAM Towage, the first woman to join the team in Peru.<\/p>\n<p>The Albatros is a compact, very high-power model designed by Robert Allan Ltd. and built by the Sanmar shipyard in Turkey that is well suited for the requirements of the Port of Callao. Featuring azimuth thrusters, it measures 24 meters long and 11 meters in beam and was designed exclusively for harbour maneuvers.<\/p>\n<p>SAAM\u00a0Towage is the leading provider of towage services in the Americas and the third largest worldwide.
