About Us

SAAM Towage is part of SAAM, a multinational company founded in Chile in 1961. Through its three business divisions--Port Terminals, Towage and Logistics-- the Chilean-born company has become a key player for foreign trade and regional economic development over the last nearly six decades, thanks to the hard work of its more than seven thousand employees.

SAAM’s strategy is based on operational excellence, asset growth and diversification and integrating the social, ethic and economic dimensions of sustainability.

With a network of 10 ports in six countries, the SAAM group is a leading port operator in the Americas and a privileged partner of the main global shipping companies. It has international operations in Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Ecuador and Costa Rica. In Chile, our group is the market leader with five ports, including San Antonio Terminal Internacional, the country’s largest port and the most efficient port on the west coast of the Americas.

Through its Logistics Division, SAAM supplies comprehensive services to importers and exporters, airlines and shipping companies, leveraging its experience and capacity to deliver solutions to its customers all along the supply chain. The division provides trucking solutions, manages storage in 125 thousand m2 of warehouses and offers other value-added services. In Chile, it is one of the main operators of bonded warehouses with a 30-year track record. These facilities connect the ports of San Antonio and Valparaíso with Santiago. Through Aerosan–in partnership with American Airlines–the division provides airport services at eight airports in Chile, Colombia and Ecuador, offering cargo and warehousing services, moving over 350,000 tons each year and providing ramp and passenger services for more than 8,000 flights a year.

SAAM is the main asset of Sociedad Matriz SAAM S.A., a public corporation incorporated in 2011 and listed on Santiago Exchange.

SAAM has also been listed, for the fourth straight year, on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile (DJSI Chile) and, for the second year, on the Dow Jones Sustainability MILA Pacific Alliance (DJSI MILA). Both indexes measure corporate performance in three dimensions: economic, environmental and social.
