Tisur’s recognition highlights operational excellence, environmental commitment and document efficiency at the port of Matarani in Peru.
Matarani (Arequipa, Perú), May 2025. SAAM Towage Peru once again received the Green Ribbon Award, granted by Terminal Internacional del Sur (Tisur) to the best towage company. The company earned this distinction for the third consecutive year, consolidating its commitment to operational excellence and sustainability at the Matarani port terminal, where it has been operating since 2021.
In the 2024 edition, SAAM Towage shared first place with PSA Marine Peru, after a technical tie, with both companies achieving 98% compliance in the criteria evaluated by the jury.
The recognition highlights the integral performance of the companies providing services at the terminal, evaluating aspects such as operational efficiency, environmental commitment and active participation in drills and safety exercises. The jury is composed of representatives from Tisur, the Maritime Authority and the National Port Authority of Peru.
“This award fills us with pride because it validates the daily efforts of our local teams and reflects our culture of continuous improvement. Operating with excellence and responsibility is part of our commitment to each port where we are present,” said Jorge Vidal, Operations Manager of SAAM Towage Peru.
SAAM Towage has been providing services to foreign trade in Peru since 2021 with a fleet of ten tugs at more than ten terminals in that country. At the port of Matarani, the company’s tug “Skua I” assists with berthing and deberthing maneuvers for vessels calling at the terminal.
