Local Expertise

We participated in the first tenders for towage services in Mexico in 1996 and were awarded the Lazaro Cardenas tender.

In 2003, we were pioneers with PEMEX in providing azimuth tugs instead of AHTS to perform rig moves.

At SAAM Towage Mexico, all of our crew members and the vast majority of our administrative personnel are Mexican nationals.

All crew members, including administrative staff, are permanently trained to ensure that best practices are part of everyday life.

Our fleet has been continuously expanded and modernized to meet market demands. The latest acquisitions were the SAAM Huasteca and SAAM Rarámuri, which were added to meet increased operational and commercial demands in the Port of Veracruz.

In ports:

Harbour towage services (berthing, unberthing, modifications) at the different terminals servicing container, general cargo, Ro-Ro, mineral and bulk carriers as well as oil, chemical, and gas tankers). We also provide assistance for the construction of structures and marine platforms, among other harbour services.

Off-shore:

  • Assistance for ships at offshore terminals, monobuoys, Floating Storage and Offloading Vessels (FSOV), Floating Production Vessels (FPV), and Oil and Gas Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO).
  • Assistance in handling mooring and/or unmooring ropes and loading hoses.
  • Towing of barges and offshore vessels.
  • Towing and positioning of self-raising and semi-submersible platforms.
  • Emergency assistance at terminals and offshore installations.
  • Assistance with vessel maneuvers for embarkation/disembarkation from marine platforms and specialized heavy loads.
  • Surveillance and transportation of light and personnel cargo in offshore export terminals.
  • Assistance with hydrocarbon recovery.
