Brazil, October 11, 2022. SAAM Towage Brazil received the Gold Seal certification, the highest in the GHG Protocol Program, an international tool used by companies to quantify and manage scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

“This seal corroborates SAAM Towage’s environmental commitment to provide complete, quality, public data on the company’s emissions. We have worked to improve emissions management across all our operations,” said SAAM Towage’s country manager in Brazil, Renata Ervilha.

The Gold Seal rating is awarded to complete GHG inventories that register all scope 1 and 2 emissions. The methodology and data must also be externally verified by a verifier certified by the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), Brazil.

The certificate was given to companies that voluntarily inventoried their GHG emissions during 2021 and was published in the Public Emissions Registry of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. This platform houses all reports from member organizations, making it the largest database of corporate inventories in Latin America.
