  • 2022

    With operations in 13 countries in the Americas, it is the leader in the continent’s tug service.

  • 2019

    In 2019, after the acquisition of 49 % of Boskalis business in Mexico, Panama, Canada, and 50 % of Brazil, the company acquired the name of SAAM Towage.

  • 2014

    In 2014 SAAM SMIT Towage is created, through joint operation with SMIT Boskalis in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Panama, entering two new markets.

  • 2012

    As of February 2012, SAAM was incorporated as an open stock company independent of CSAV and is listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange.

  • 1992

    In 1992, it became the first Chilean company in the maritime-port sector to expand in Latin America, establishing itself in Colombia, Peru, Uuguay, Ecuador, Brasil and Mexico.

  • 1980

    In 1980 it created a subsidiary in association with American Airlines – Aerosan, and operated in the international airport of Santiago.

  • 1976

    In 1976 it was the first company to provide bulk import services.

  • 1961

    The company began its operations as Sudamericana Air Agency and maritime S.A.C on November 15, 1961 in Valparaiso as part of the Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV). During those years, it provided agency, services for ships, stowage, towage, and port equipment.
