Dubai, May 14, 2024 | SAAM Towage was selected as a finalist for the “Operator of the Year” award to be presented at the ITS (International Tug and Salvage Convention), which recognizes companies that set new milestones in operational excellence. In addition, the company’s first electric tugs, which operate in the Port of Vancouver, are in the running for the “Tug of the Year” award.

The ITS awards recognize outstanding vessels, operators, innovators and professionals who raise the standards of safety, sustainability and operational excellence. The awards ceremony will be held May 21-23 in Dubai, where industry leaders and experts will gather to share recent sector developments and present the awards in various categories.
In the contest for the Operator of the Year award, the company is recognized as a “pioneer for adopting battery-powered tugs, which has reduced CO2 emissions by more than 2,400 tons.”
